2006 Refit and Refurbishment |
After purchase by the current owner the vessel was relocated to the South Island port of Dunedin, New Zealand where an extensive refit was undertaken. The refit concentrated on modernising the vessel to a high standard, retaining its functional appearance and retaining easy care features. All cabins were refurbished, along with conversion of redundant work spaces to accommodation. This work didn’t require any structural alteration and the original integrity of the ship is maintained.
The vessels basic amenities such as laundry facilities, toilets/showers, hot water systems, etc were repaired upgraded or replaced to meet modern expectations.
Though the aesthetic characteristics of the vessel received major attention, at the same time the mechanical and structural facets were not neglected. The owner has not compromised on any engineering aspects of the vessel and has undertaken to replace/repair any portion of the ship that either required attention or was likely to do so in the future, thereby upgrading her into a reliable, self-sufficient long distance cruiser.
Below is a list of major works that were undertaken during the refit period. The list it is by no means exhaustive as many additional work was undertaken at the same time to bring the vessel to the standard she is today.
